Okanogan County Washington: Open for Adventure!
What to do

Mountain Biking

Okanogan Country offers all challenge levels for the avid mountain biker from beginning to advanced.

We would like to offer some tips. If you're not used to riding bent over, take frequent breaks and stretch your neck muscles. This is a wonderful opportunity to take in the scenery, animals, birds and beautiful sky! In fact your cadence may be hard to maintain as there are so many views to slow down to see.

Scanning constantly will be essential as terrain characteristics can change quickly. Okanogan Country offers gentle terrain for the beginner or leisurely roll and exciting terrain where the crouch position will be required

QUICK FACTS

The Methow Valley has the most miles of trail available in Okanogan Country. Tucked in a high pocket of the majestic North Cascades, the Methow Valley offers the best mountain bike riding and road riding with so little traffic in the Northwestern United States. More than a million acres of public lands criss-crossed by dirt roads and double/single track trails offer experiences in the saddle that are virtually endless. And the climate! Low humidity, clear mountain air, and plenty of sunshine are common throughout the season. You'll find rides for every skill level: gentle mountain trails perfect for a youngster's first tour in the woods, and dizzying mountain cranks that will test the skill and stamina of the most decorated mountain bike warrior.
