Every year, the skies above the charming old western town of Winthrop come alive with dozens of colorful hot air balloons drifting over the snow-capped peaks of the North Cascades.  One of the only winter balloon festivals in the nation, the Winthrop Balloon Roundup is breathtaking, family friendly weekend filled with dawn launches, glowing night displays, and the magic of flight against a stunning snowy backdrop.  Launches begin at 7:00 a.m. each morning, and the balloon glow takes place Saturday evening.  You can find festival details and daily balloon flight status at https://winthropballoonfestival.com
