Goat Peak Lookout

Provided by: Okanogan Country

A challenging 4.2 mile hike (round trip) to the USFS lookout atop one of the hallmark topographical features of the Upper Methow. Hike uphill through forest and meadows until the trail begins to zig-zag through steeper terrain. After a sharp uphill passage break out into open ridge line with alpine meadows and a view of the lookout in the distance. The lookout is manned on a “need basis” these days but if unoccupied you still get to enjoy an amazing 360 degree view of mountains that reach all the way into Canada and as far south as Mount Rainer. If no one is there it is still a 1480’ elevation gain.
