Bridgeport State Park
Provided by: Okanogan Country
A 748 acre camping park with 7,500 ft of freshwater shoreline on Rufus Woods Lake. Set directly behind Chief Joseph Dam, this lake is a segment of the Columbia River. The park provides 18 acres of lawn and some shade in the midst of a desert terrain. "Haystacks", volcanic formations resembling their name, are the park's most striking feature. There is access to a boat launch, fishing, camping, golf course nearby, swimming, and 4 miles of mostly easy to moderate hiking trails wind along the stunningly diverse shoreline of Lake Rufus Woods. The footpaths are bumpy in sports and invite attention.
