Franson Peak Cab at Molson

Provided by: Okanogan Country

Franson Peak/Molson Museum

The Franson Peak Lookout location is in our neighboring county of Ferry. The drive is possible with a 4x4 vehicle, but there is an easier way to see one of the older cabs! When the current structure was built in 1986, the 1950s cab was relocated to the Molson Museum. This easy drive in the Okanogan Highlands lands you in a remote ghost town east of Oroville, complete with indoor & outdoor museums! Check out the historic cab at ground level, plus explore the history and artifacts of this one-of-a-kind region.

Directions: From Oroville, drive east on Chesaw road approximately 9 miles to Molson Rd - the only paved road running northwards. 5 miles farther brings you to the ghost town of Molson on the right, with the Franson Cab and the Schoolhouse Museum on the left. You can see the barbed wire fence separating Canada just ahead!
