Molson Lake

Molson Lake is just seven miles northeast of Oroville on the Molson Lake Road and the trout fishing is best done from a float tube, pontoon boat or small boat.  There is a small dirt launch at mid lake.  Trout are planted in Molson in spring and the fall to keep the fishing primed.  There is a wonderful event in the winter that attracts ice fishing enthusiasts from all over the state.  The Northwest Ice Fishing Festival has been going on for years and is one of the best community fishing events you will ever attend.  It always happens on the Saturday of Martin Luther King Weekend. There is a great breakfast and dinner and a fishing derby and other activities that make visiting the town of Molson in the winter memorable.  Anglers fish both Molson and nearby Sidley Lake during the event.
