Don't forget to dip your toes at the water's edge of Lost Lake and keep an eye out for the loons! A family of 2 adults and 2 chicks have recently been spotted spending their time near the south end of the lake.

The Common Loon (Gavia immer) is a summer resident around Bonaparte, Blue, and Lost Lakes in the Okanogan. These three lakes are part of 13 lakes in the state that lead fishing tackle is banned to help protect the loon population where they breed and rear their young.
