Snowmobile / Snow Bike Use Restrictions

Three areas near Washington Pass, located off of State Route 20 in the Methow Valley Ranger District, will be closed to snowmobiles and snow bikes from January 1 through June 30, 2021. This temporary closure is being implemented to reduce safety risks due to unusually high levels of use in the area.
The portions of State Route 20 that are closed seasonally by snow will remain open to over snow motorized use. There are still many backcountry areas in the vicinity that also remain open. For information on areas still open to snowmobiles and snow bikes, as well as other winter recreation opportunities in the Methow Valley, please contact the district at (509) 996-4000.
